Majlis Agama Islam Negeri Kedah as the main agency which plays the role as a policy maker for matters relating to Islamic religion in the state of Kedah. The MAIK Strategic Plan for 2021-2025 sets directions in line with the trend of modernization in 21st century.

This Strategic Plan was officially launched by His Majesty Al Aminul Karim Sultan Sallehuddin Ibni Almarhum Sultan Badlishah Sultan of Kedah Darul Aman on 27 September 2021 corresponding to 19 Safar 1443H.

This plan outlines five main Strategic Thrusts as follows:

1.Improving the Management Governance Quality .

2.Strengthening the Role of Baitulmal as a Muslims Social and Economic Cause Institution.

3.Empowering Wakaf as an Instrument for Muslims’ Economic and Social Development.

4.Enhancing the Use of the Latest Information and Communication Technologies.

5.Strengthening the Enforcement of Laws relating to Islamic Religious Affairs and Cultivating Research for the Well-Being of the Community.

This Strategic Plan also established a structured framework, which involves 14 strategies and will be implemented through 33 initiatives and 63 indicators used as performance evaluation.

This Strategic Plan will be a catalyst for efforts to empower MAIK to continue to excel in the context of managing Islamic religious affairs in the State of Kedah.
